For this Visual Capitalist design challenge , I wanted to find a data moment that feels like a “headline” on its own, something simple, visual, and genuinely consequential. In the 2025 vs 2026 nominal GDP rankings, one detail immediately stood out: India overtakes Japan. After decades of a mostly stable “top tier,” the #4 and #5 spots flip.
